Abstract:
The research achievements in the developmental biology and the genetic ecology of hybrid rice in the past decade were summarized, including accumulation and transportation of dry matter, changes in anatomic structure of caryopsis, related enzyme activity, endogenous hormone contents, and starch accumulation in strong and weak grains at the filling stage as well as the dynamic genetic property of caryopsis development, cytoplasmic effect on the grain filling process in hybrid rice exposed to different ecological conditions.The main issues in the present research on grain yield and quality formation of hybrid rice were explicated and discussed.New idea and its approach were outlined for the development of modern crop cultivation science.

Effect of planting density and patterns on high protein soybean variety Fudou 234 were studied by the two-factors splitted blocks design.The result showed that the seed-yield of the treatment with planting density 225000 plants·hm-2 and two plants per hole was the highest among planting density 225000-450000 plants·hm-2and planting patterns from one to four plants per hole.The treatment had strong stems, more branches, more pods per plant, high weight of 100 seeds and seed-yield per plant.

The present study found that the supernatant liquid of Bacillus sphaericus Bs-8093 strain had inhibiting effect on the Raistonia solanacearum virulent strain.The proofread inhibit rate variated with different prescription of Bacillus sphaericus fermented supernatant liquid to Raistonia solanacerum virulent strain F.1.2-010618-07V.the highest was up to 82.49%,the lowest was 44.93%.An orthogonal design was used to screen fermentative medium of Bacillus sphaericus isolate Bs-8093.The results showed that cottonseed powder, beef extract and initial pH had significant influence on the number of bacterium and the proofread rate for its supernatant fluid to Raistonia solanacearum.The most appropriate fermentative medium was composed of cottonseed powder 5.0%.beef extract 0.3%, initial pH 7.4.

The volatile oil from Allium sativum splited the particles of tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) after incubating it with TMV.It strongly inhibited TMV-CP polymerization in vitro, but did not obviously influence the infectivity of TMV-RNA.The volatile oil also increased the in vitro activities of peroxidase (POD) and polyphenol oxidase (PPO) when sprayed in Nicotiana tobacum.

The PCR amplified ITS fragments were analyzed by restriction endonuclease digestion (RFLP).Results showed that the RFLP patterns of S.halepensem (L.) Pers which yielded two bands around 650 bp and two bands around 200 bp.But significantly different from the RFLP patterns of S.sp.and S.propinguum (Kunth.) Hitche which yielded one band around 650 bp and one band around 200 bp.The results were consistent with the fact which S.halepensem had two selective identify sites of PmaC I while S.sp.and S.propinguum each had one.Therefore, it could differentiate S.propinguum, S.sp.and S.halepensem (L.) Pers by PmaC I.

Forteen strains of E.coli pathogens were isolated from 9 swine farms in Fuzhou, Fuqing, Zhangzhou, Putian, Shaowu, Xiamen, Quanzhou of Fujian, and were identified by Fujian Epidemic Prevention Station and analyzed by PCR with E.coli K88 and K99 specific PCR primers.The result showed that 10 strains belonged to normal E.coli.2 strains belonged to β-hemolytic E.coli and 2 strains belonged to E.coli K88.Insecticide tolerance of the isolated strains were higher than that of standard strains E.coli K88, K99 by drugsensitive test.

Twenty-four monoclonal antibodies (McAbs) against newcastle disease virus (NDV) were obtained by using hybridoma technique.Among them, McAb-14, McAb-18 and McAb-21 had strong neutralization characteristics, and there was strong correspondence between the neutralization efficacity and the haemagglutination inhibition value.The McAb-18 and McAb-21 belonged to IgG2aclass, and McAb-14 was TgG2bclass.No crossreaction was detected between the McAbs and infectious bronchitis virus, Marek’s disease virus, infectious bursal disease virus, egg drop syndrome virus and infectious laryngotracheitis virus.Two of the three neutralizing McAbs were equivalent mixed randomly; the passive immunization treatment and immune preventive test of the mixture were examined in chicken.The results showed that McAb-14+McAb-18 combination was the most effective.

Chromosome specimen from kidney cells were prepared by using colchicines-low concentration-air drying method and Howell’s (1980) Ag-NORs staining method.The karyotype,Ag-NORs of Anguilla australis was observed.The result showed that the chromosome number of A.australis was 2n=38.The karyotype of A.australis was 2n=16m+4sm + 18t,NF = 58.The Ag-NORs staining pots could be found on the tips of short arm of sm2.

The data about extremely low temperature in winter of 2004 in Lianjiang County were analyzed.Extremely low temperature in hillside with 80 meters relative height or in middle and top part with 80% relative slope in sunny day increased, the temperature inversion was evident, so olive garden should be selected at zone above 50% relative slope.In hillside with relative height below 50 meters, extremely low temperature in sunny day increased with the height.The nearer to the top of hillside, the higher value of extremely low temperature was observed, so olive garden should be selected at zone near the top.Planting olive in these zone can reduce or avoid low temperature hurt.

The genetic polymorphisms in Lycopersicon esculentum var.cerasiforme of thirty-two cultivars were investigated by using random amplified polymorphic DNA markers (RAPD).Twenty-seven primers selected from two handred primers amplified 207 DNA fragments and 139 bands showed polymorphisms that occupied 67.15% of the whole amplified bands.Each primer could amplify 2 to 12 polymorphic bands, with an average of 7.67 bands.The length of most amplified fragments ranged from 270 to 2000 bp.Cluster analysis showed that the 32 cultivars could be classified into 3 groups at the level of D 0.33, which evidently showed the variations in some important traits of Lycopersicon esculentum var.cerasiforme.

The nutrient contents of the surface soils at 16 cropped fields, among which 12 were established by the province and 4 by the state, were monitored during 1998-2004 in order to reveal the nutrient evolution tendency of the cropped fields in Fujian Province.The content of total N and organic matter in these soils increased slightly, the content of available P increased evidently whereas that of the alkali-hydrolyzable N decreased.The content of available K in paddy rice fields decreased while that in uplands increased slightly.All the evolution had no significant differences.The results indicated that N and P fertilizers were generally applied in excessive amount in Fujian Province.

The effects of pH value, temperature, light, metal ions and additives on the stability of red pigments from waxberry were studied.The results showed that the pigments were very sensible to acidity and alkalinity, and had a poor thermal stability, and oxidants (hydrogen peroxide),reductants (sulfite sodium) and the preservative (sodium benzoate) obviously degraded the tone of pigment.Citric acid, sodium chloride and vitamin C had influences on improving the pigments and sucrose had little influence on the pigment stability.The existence of Fe2+ and Cu2+ could increase the absorbance of the juice and make the color of juice darker,and K+,Ca2+,Na+and Zn2+ had little effects on the pigments.Exposure to indoor natural radiation and ultraviolet degraded the tone of pigments and dark room storage was good for the juice stability.

The effects of different concentration additives A and B on the phytoplankton growth were studied.The results indicated that additive A had significant effect on the growth of phytoplankton, and additive B had no, and there was not significant interaction between additive A and additive B.When additive B was 0.032 gm-3and A was 0.24 gm-3, the combination effects were the highest for the first selection; Through further selection toward the additive A, it was the best in the concentration of 0.28 gm-3.Microscopic analysis showed that Bacil-lariopkyta and Chrysophyta were preponderant algaes.
