Karyotype and Ag-NORs of Anguilla australis

  • Chromosome specimen from kidney cells were prepared by using colchicines-low concentration-air drying method and Howell’s (1980) Ag-NORs staining method.The karyotype,Ag-NORs of Anguilla australis was observed.The result showed that the chromosome number of A.australis was 2n=38.The karyotype of A.australis was 2n=16m+4sm + 18t,NF = 58.The Ag-NORs staining pots could be found on the tips of short arm of sm2.
