Objective To conduct a regional evaluation and feature study on the level of agricultural infrastructure construction, identify regional development gaps in agricultural infrastructure, and provide a basis for optimizing resource allocation and addressing regional shortcomings.
Method An agricultural infrastructure evaluation index system was constructed based on material and social dimensions, and factor analysis was used to systematically analyze the level and spatial distribution of agricultural infrastructure construction in 9 prefecture-level cities in Fujian Province from three dimensions: overall, spatial, and temporal.
Result (1) In the temporal dimension, the growth trend of traditional agricultural infrastructure was stable, while that of new infrastructure was rapid. (2) In the spatial dimension, economically developed regions had more prominent investment in indirect agricultural infrastructure (such as logistics and information), while major agricultural production areas had an advantage in the construction level of direct agricultural infrastructure (such as farmland water conservancy and production facilities). (3) In terms of comprehensive competitiveness, economically developed regions had a clear overall advantage in agricultural infrastructure; at the sub-index level, major agricultural production areas performed better in the construction of soft infrastructure (such as technology services and organizational management).
Suggestion Based on the research findings and in line with the requirements of the "15th Five-Year Plan" for the modernization of agriculture and rural areas in Fujian Province, this paper puts forward policy suggestions from five aspects: consolidating and enhancing the efficiency of traditional agricultural infrastructure, accelerating the layout of new agricultural infrastructure, optimizing the spatial layout of agricultural infrastructure, coordinating the quantity, quality, efficiency and fairness of agricultural infrastructure, and improving the long-term management and maintenance mechanism of agricultural infrastructure.
