  • Polyphenols are important substance which affect the growth of tobacco and their product quality.The progresses in the research on tobacco polyphenols, such as metabolism, regulation and accumulation, were summaried in this paper.The effect of polyphenols on the quality of tobacco, the factors affecting the metabolism and transformation of polypheols and so on, were also mentioned.The emphasized fields for the future and the importance of the studies on the biochemical alteration to tobacco polyphenols and its relative controlling techniques in Fujian Province were also put forward.
