Relationship between the phenotype of AKP and Performance in the Egg-Laying Duck

  • The relationship between the phenotype of AKP isozyme and performance was examined in 12 groups of 4 strains(A,B,C,D)of putian Black Duck. There were 6 phenotypes(Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ,Ⅴ,Ⅵ)tested. The strain A and D were characterized with egg weight strongly related to the frequency of phenotype V,While the strain B and C characterized with egg numbers highly re-lated to the frequency of phenotype Ⅳ. the frequency of phenotype V and Band 2 of AKP isozyme were positively correlated with the egg weight,negatively with the egg number.The AKP isozyme was a genetic marker to help breeding.
