Study on the type of the cloacal epithelium in muscovy duck

摘要: 运用组织学技术对番鸭泄殖腔上皮的类型进行了研究。结果表明,番鸭泄殖腔上皮是复层扁平上皮,上皮间无杯状细胞,粘模表面无绒毛结构。直肠黏膜上皮在直肠末端突然转变为泄殖腔的复层扁平上皮,两者之间界线明显。

Abstract: The type of the cloacal epithelium of duck was studied by using histological techniques.The results showed that the cloacal epithelium of duck was stratified squamous epithelium.There was no goblet cell between epithelial cells, and no villus at the mucosal surface.The mucosal epithelium of rectum transforms into stratified squamous epithelium abruptly at the end of the rectum.The boundary line between rectum and cloaca was very distinct.
