Research progress in effect of drought stress on turfgrass

  • Drought stress is one of the chief environmental stress factors to turfgrass growth.In recent years,the research on turfgrass drought stress has gradually become a hot spot,and the great progress has been achieved.Many researches in China were concentrated in mechanism of drought resistance.However,it’s still in the initial stage in comparing with other crop science in China and turfgrass industry abroad.The research methods,drought resistance identification,mechanism of drought resistance and its improvement methods were summarized in this paper.The current status of research on turfgrass drought stress in China such as existing problems,research key point and development trend were also discussed.
