The effects of seven different pumpkin stocks on growth, development, yield and quality of grafted muskmelon were studied. The results showed that the growth and development of the grafted combinations were better than that of the self-rooted muskmelon, with earlier flowering and fruit setting. The yield of muskmelon showed significant difference. The Shengyan melon stock had the highest production in the all grafted combinations, which increased 69.93% than before. And the muskmelon acquired resistance to the disease of Fusarium oxysporumf sp.Cucumerinum and Mycosphaerella melonis (pass.) chiu et walker when grafted. The quality analyses indicated that the grafted muskmelon had lower soluble sugar content but higher protein and Vitamin C content than self-rooted muskmelon, with no significant difference of flesh fiber contents between them. All the combinations had significant difference in both appearance and taste, and 012?023 combination and Shengyan melon stock were recommended for rootstock on the muskmelon.
