Mutation and Fermentation of Hypsizigus marmoreus

  • By means of UV radiation mutagenesis on Hypsizigus marmoreus,the mutation breeding strain No.6 was resulted after repeated screenings.Mycelia of the fermentation strain had a dry weight of 22.700 mg•mL-1.It contained 4.063 4 mg•mL-1 intracellular polysaccharides,1.7220 mg•mL-1 exopolysaccharide and 5.783 4 mg•mL-1 total sugars.The yield was higher than that from other strains.The optimized culture.composition was found to consist of 2.0% soluble starch,3.0% maltose,0.6% beef extract and 0.2% peptone.Cultivated with the optimized formulation,No.6 H.marmoreus mycelium had a dry weight of 20.2580 mg•mL-1.Its intracellular polysaccharide content increased to 4.2587 mg•mL-1 and exopolysaccharide to 2.2342 mg•mL-1.
