Toxic genes of the potential pathogenic E.coli collected in different seasons from Min River watersheds in Fuzhou were analyzed using Multiplex-PCR.The results indicated that 840 out of 2015 E.coli isolates were potential pathogens classified as EHEC,EAEC,EPEC and ETEC groups.Ten virulence genes were detected with dominant genes,aidA-1,astA and sepA.The numbers of bacteria,E.coli and E.coli carrying virulence genes, increased in the spring and summer, peaked in the fall, and decreased in the winter.
